Berhampur/Odisha,Oct 9 : TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) flagged off an E-Vehicle at its PanchmangalamDhoopbatti Centre located in Panchama Village, Rangeilunda Block, to support the marketing and distribution of eco-friendly incense sticks made by women members of a Self-Help Group (SHG). Established by TPSODL, the centre empowers women to collect stale flowers from nearby temples and transform them into incense sticks, promoting sustainable livelihoods and effective floral waste management.
The E-Vehicle was formally inaugurated by Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO, TPSODL, in the presence of educationist Ms. Manju Garg and other dignitaries and senior TPSODL officials. Their presence and encouragement highlighted the importance of supporting women entrepreneurs and strengthening community-based livelihood initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO, TPSODL, said, “At TPSODL, we believe that sustainable development goes beyond providing reliable power. It also means creating opportunities for communities to become self-reliant. Through this initiative, we aim to empower women entrepreneurs by strengthening their production and marketing capabilities while promoting an eco-friendly approach to waste management. We hope this support will help the SHG expand its market reach and create greater livelihood opportunities for its members.”
The newly introduced E-Vehicle will help the SHG transport its products to different markets, retailers and customers more efficiently and at a lower transportation cost. It will improve market accessibility, facilitate timely product delivery and support the expansion of the enterprise, while promoting clean and sustainable mobility.
As part of the programme, the dignitaries also inaugurated a new Cone Dhoopbatti production machine. The machine is expected to enhance production capacity, improve operational efficiency and enable the SHG to diversify its product range.
Another key highlight of the programme was the launch of newly designed packaging for Dhoopbatti and Cone Dhoopbatti products. The upgraded packaging aims to strengthen product branding, enhance market visibility and improve customer appeal.
Through such initiatives, TPSODL continues to promote women-led enterprises, encourage the effective utilisation of floral waste and support sustainable livelihood opportunities.
