State-Level science merit search exam draws 500 students at Viswass Higher Secondary School

Bhubaneswar, Dec. 8: The State Level Science Merit Search Examination 2025 was conducted with great enthusiasm at Viswass Higher Secondary School, Pitapalli, on December 7. The annual talent hunt drew over 500 students from government and private high schools across multiple districts, all competing to demonstrate their scientific aptitude.

The examination, designed to spark greater interest in science education, aims to identify and encourage young scientific minds. Speakers at the event underscored the growing importance of science in an increasingly technology-driven world and stressed the need to nurture scientific curiosity among students.

Top Three Winners Announced

1. Siddhi Shekhar Chhotray, Bakshi Jagabandhu Vidyadhar High School, Khordha – 1st Prize

2. Jyoti Prakash Sahu, Government Boys’ High School, Unit-8 – 2nd Prize

3. Satyam Bishoi, Government Boys’ High School, Unit-8 – 3rd Prize

The winners were honoured with cash awards, certificates and gift kits, while all participating students received certificates and tokens of appreciation.

Dignitaries Grace Award Ceremony

The award ceremony was led by Dr. Pragyan Ranjan Gharai, Chairman of the institution and Managing Director of Utkal Hospital, who attended as chief guest. Dr. Nandini Gharai, Secretary of the institution, joined as guest of honour.

Prof. Ashok Kumar Kar, Principal of Viswass Higher Secondary School, and Dr. Abhaya Kumar Bahinipati, Principal of Vishwas Paramedical and Chief Coordinator of the examination, addressed the gathering and congratulated the students.

The event concluded with appreciation for the faculty and staff of Viswass Higher Secondary School, whose efforts ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the examination.
