Gajapati: Awareness Programme on POSH Act and SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act Held at M.R. Boys’ High School, Paralakhemundi

Paralakhemundi, Jul 24 : An awareness programme was organized today at M.R. Boys’ High School , Paralakhemundi, by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Gajapati. The event focused on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act (commonly known as the POSH Act) and sensitization on the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The programme was presided over by Sri Bimal Raul, Secretary, DLSA, Gajapati, who elaborated on the key provisions and importance of both Acts in promoting a just and inclusive society. He stressed the need for awareness and active implementation of legal safeguards to protect vulnerable sections of society, especially women and marginalized communities.
Distinguished guests who addressed the gathering included Sri S. Giridhar, ADEO, Gajapati; Sri Salman Raika, District Welfare Officer, Gajapati; Sri Aswini Kumar Mahapatra, Chairman, Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Gajapati; and Smt. Monalisha Dash,headmistress, M. R. Boys’High School, Paralakhemundi, who each spoke on the significance of legal literacy and the role of education in creating a safe and equitable environment.
The session saw active participation from teachers of almost all school of Gajapati district, and staff members of the school. The speakers encouraged the attendees to spread awareness in their communities and uphold the principles of equality and dignity for all.
