TPWODL Strengthens Power Infrastructure in Remote Regions of Balangir District

Burla/Balangir, Apr 9 : In a significant move to strengthen rural electrification, TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha has upgraded power infrastructure in Pandripani and Kutasinhga, remote regions of Balangir District. The initiative aims to enhance electricity stability, improve voltage regulation, and support economic development in the region.
A 33/11 KV link line was inaugurated at Pandripani of Balangir district by Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kanak Bardhan Singh Deo in presence of Hon’ble MP, Balangir, Smt. Sangita Kumari Singh Deo and Hon’ble MLA Kantabanjhi Shri. Laxman Kumar Bagh yesterday. Similarly, A new and dedicated 33/11 KV Power Sub-Station (PSS) at Kutasingha under Balangir district was inaugurated by Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri. Kanak Bardhan Singh Deo in Hon’ble MP, Balangir, Smt. Sangita Kumari Singh Deo and Hon’ble Health Minister of Odisha Shri. Mukesh Mahaling. The details of the project as follows:
Pandripani 33/11 kV Link Line:
The installation of this link line is a milestone in the commitment of TPWODL to provide uninterrupted power service. This link line will provide uninterrupted power service to 30 thousand consumers and one thousand irrigation projects in about 50 villages of Bangamunda Block and Murubahal Block.
Earlier, due to the existence of only one line, the consumers of these two blocks were deprived of getting electricity service whenever there was a disruption in the power supply due to natural calamities or any other reason. With this new link line, electricity service can be provided to the consumers of that area through any one of the feeder lines.
Kutasingha 33/11 kV PSS:
The new Kutasingha sub-station has been constructed under ODSSP Phase-4 scheme at a cost of nearly Rs. 8 crores. The PSS contains 5 MVA capacity of two power transformer and has been connected through Chhokarmal Feeder, Kutasingha Township Feeder, Lachhipur Feeder, Reserve Feeder.
This PSS will benefit about 3,500 electricity consumers of Kutasinga Gram Panchayat, Murusunda Gram Panchayat, Bhakti Gram Panchayat, Lakchipuram Gram Panchayat. Earlier, all these areas were supplied with electricity from Salebhata grid which is 15 km away. Now, it is Kutasinga Grid, which will provide uninterrupted and reliable electricity service to the consumers. About 500 agriculture-based consumers of the area will also get reliable electricity service through this grid sub-station.
On this occasion, Hon’ble DY CM advised consumers to cooperate with the company and also advised them to pay their electricity bills on time. The Hon’ble MP discussed in detail the need foruninterrupted power supply infrastructure and its utility for all over the development at Balangir district. Once infrastructure of the areas improves then then the people of the district will develop. She has expressed her satisfaction on the work execution of the Discom and assured for all possible support.
The Chief Executive Officer of TPWODL delivered the welcome address and the Head of Operations of the company, Shri. Ashish Kumar Pattjoshi proposed the vote of thanks.
