PM watched live coverage of Uttarkashi workers being rescued, got emotional: Sources
NEW DELHI,NOV 29 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi was closely monitoring the entire evacuation process when the Uttarkashi tunnel workers were rescued late night on Tuesday. According to sources, the Prime Minister was watching the entire process live on television.
The entire cabinet, along with the PM, witnessed the rescue operation live. The Prime Minister got emotional after the safe evacuation of the trapped workers.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that a cabinet meeting was underway on Tuesday around 8 pm during the evacuation process of the workers and that PM Modi was very emotional when the workers came out.
Forty-one labourers were rescued from the collapsed Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi on Tuesday.

Earlier today, Chief Minister Dhami met the workers at the Chinyalisour hospital, where they were taken after being rescued Tuesday evening. Following his meeting, Dhami confirmed the workers were doing well.
They were then taken to AIIMS Rishikesh where they underwent medical checkups.
The Silkyara tunnel, part of the Centre’s ambitious Char Dham project, collapsed on November 12 due to a landslide.
Rat-hole mining experts broke through the last stretch of the rubble at about 7 pm on Tuesday. A team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force, Assam (SDRF) entered the steel chute to reach the trapped workers and brought them out on wheeled stretchers one by one.
