NFR to Run Additional Special Trains During Festive Season

Guwahati, Sep 28 : Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the continuation of existing special train services and the operation of additional special trains in view of the upcoming Puja, Diwali and Chhath festival season.
The special trains will connect important destinations across the Northeast, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Telangana, providing additional travel options for passengers and facilitating increased passenger movement during the festive period.
Train No. 07046/07047 Secunderabad–Naharlagun Special will make five additional trips in each direction. The Secunderabad–Naharlagun service will operate every Friday from October 2 to October 30, departing Secunderabad at 8.30 am and reaching Naharlagun at 4 pm on Sunday. The return service will run every Monday from October 5 to November 2.
Similarly, Train No. 08047/08048 Santragachi–Naharlagun Special will make nine additional trips in each direction. The Santragachi–Naharlagun train will run every Friday from October 2 to November 27, while the return service will operate every Saturday from October 3 to November 28.
Train No. 03005/03006 Howrah–Lumding Special will make seven additional trips in each direction. The Howrah–Lumding service will operate every Friday from October 16 to November 27, with the return train running every Saturday from October 17 to November 28. The train will halt at important stations including Bandel, Katwa, Jangipur Road, Malda Town, New Jalpaiguri, Kamakhya and Hojai, among others.
Train No. 03129/03130 Kolkata–New Jalpaiguri Special will make 14 additional trips in each direction. The Kolkata–New Jalpaiguri service will operate every Saturday and Sunday from October 17 to November 29, while the return service will run every Sunday and Monday from October 18 to November 30. The train will have stoppages at Naihati, Nabadwip Dham, Azimganj, New Farakka, Barsoi and Kishanganj, among other stations.
NFR said the special services are aimed at strengthening connectivity and meeting the increased demand for passenger travel during the festive season.
Details of stoppages and timings are available on the IRCTC website and are also being notified through newspapers and NFR’s social media platforms. Passengers have been advised to verify the details before undertaking their journey..
