National Seminar Organized by the Department of Odia Language and Literature,Rajendra University

Bolangir/Odisha/Mar 31 : A two-day national seminar was held on March 28 and 29 under the auspices of the Department of Odia Language and Literature,Rajendra University.
At the inaugural ceremony,the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Rajendra University and Chairman of the Postgraduate Council, Professor Pratap Kumar Das,attended as the Chief Guest.Other distinguished guests included the University Registrar Shri Haraprasad Bhoi,Controller of Examinations Professor Shyam Bhoi,Head of the Department of Odia Language and Literature Dr. Sushanta Kumar Panda,and the keynote speaker Professor Krushna Chandra Pradhan,Associate Professor from the Department of Odia at Fakir Mohan University.Dr.Panda introduced the guests, and at the end,Professor Dr.Rohit Malik delivered the vote of thanks.
After the inaugural session,the first session of the seminar focused on “Contemporary Odia Short Story Literature (1980–2020)”. Professor Krushna Chandra Pradhan chaired the session and shared his views on the topic.Subject experts including Professor Shyam Bhoi,Professor Kautuk Pandar,and Dr. Sanjay Mishra discussed various aspects of contemporary short story literature.The session concluded with a vote of thanks by university researcher Suresh Kumar Bhoi.
The second session was based on “Contemporary Odia Poetry (1980–2020)”. It was presided over by former Professor Dr. Babrubahan Mahapatra from Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, Baripada.Professor Mahapatra,along with Professor Pratap Kumar Das from the Department of English,Rajendra University, and Associate Professor Dr.Gopinath Bag from Sambalpur University,discussed different trends in Odia poetry.Additionally, two eminent poets—Professor Shatrughna Pandav and Dr.Gautam Jena—joined online and shared their views on contemporary Odia poetry.The session ended with a vote of thanks by Assistant Professor Abakash Patel.
The third session focused on “Contemporary Odia Dramatic Literature (1980–2020)”.Former Professor Samar Mudali from Sambalpur University presided over the session.Distinguished speakers included noted litterateur and Odisha Sahitya Academi awardee Ganesh Ram Nahak,Head of the Odia Department at Gangadhar Meher University Dr.Parikshit Bhoi,Assistant Professor Sarat Kumar Jena from Biswa-Bharati University (who joined online),and Dr.Sushanta Kumar Panda. All speakers presented detailed perspectives on various aspects of the topic.The session concluded with a vote of thanks by researcher Subhranshu Behera.
Dr.Sushanta Kumar Panda served as the coordinator for all sessions.The seminar witnessed participation from professors, researchers,and students from various universities and colleges,who presented papers and contributed to making the event a grand success.
