Five including wife of the deceased and her lover arrested for gunning down her husband

Jajpur, Apr 13 : In a shocking incident, five persons including the wife of the deceased and her lover were arrested in Jajpur district on Monday on the charge of gunning down her husband on Wednesday night at Jajpur town.
The deceased Soumya Ranjan Samal (23) of Kuansarpur under Jajpur Town police station was gunned down by a motorcycle borne miscreant on Wednesday night at Kalimegha Chhack near Jajpur town when he was returning home on his house after closing his chicken shop at Shitaleswar market.
He was first rushed to the district headquarter hospital at Jajpur as his condition was serious .Doctors in Jajpur referred him to the SCB medical college and hospital at Cuttack where he succumbed to his serious gunshot injuries.
During investigation , we came to know that Subhashree Behera the wife of the deceased was running a beauty parlour at Jajpur Road and she used to visit regularly to the house of one of her friends Pritiprava Priryadarshani Khilar (24) where she fell in love with Tapan Khilar(26) the brother of Priprava . Subhashree was in an extra-marital relationship with Tapan Khillar and both of them visited different places without the knowledge of the deceased.
Tapan last month proposed to Subhashree for taking divorce from her husband and she agreed but her husband did not agree to divorce his wife for which Tapan Khillar , his sister Pritiprava and Subhashree the wife of the deceased hatched a plan to kill Somya .
Tapan purchased a revolver from Ankit Thakur and Suraj Singh of Rourkella to eliminate Somya. Pritiprava Priyadarsini paid Rs 49,000 to Ankit and Suraj through her PhonePe number to purchase a revolver on 27 March After gunning down Somya, the assailant Tapan on Wednesday night concealed the revolver in a bushy area behind the Medical College at Jajpur, said Yashpratap Shrimal, Superintendent of Police , Jajpur.
Police seized one country made pistol , one live bullet, seven mobile phones, one bike and one helmet . All the five accused – Tapan Kumar Khillar (26) and his sister Pritiprava Priryadarshani Khilar (23) of Mirzapur village under Jajpur Sadar police station, , Subhashree Behera (23) the wife of the deceased , both the gun suppliers Suraj singh (27 and Ankit Thakur (27) of Rourkella were booked under 103 and 238 of BNS and under the provisions of Arms Act They were produced in the court at Jajpur on Monday . The court rejected their bail applications and remanded them into judicial custody, added the police officer.
