Devbhoomi Jagannath Temple Witnesses Grand Deba Snana Purnima ahead of Rath Yatra at Jindal Nagar

Angul, June 29 :The sacred Deba Snana Purnima, the grand ceremonial bathing festival of the Holy Trinity was observed with profound devotion and spiritual grandeur at the Jagannath Temple in Devbhoomi, Jindal Nagar, Angul, drawing hundreds of devotees from Jindal Nagar and the neighbouring villages.
Smt. Savitri Jindal, Chairperson Emeritus of the O.P. Jindal Group, and Smt. Shallu Jindal, Chairperson, Jindal Foundation and the Adya Sevika of the temple, participated in the sacred rituals, offering heartfelt prayers and reverence to Mahaprabhu Jagannath, MahaPrabhu Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
Amid the resonating chants of “Jai Jagannath”, the rhythmic peal of temple bells and an atmosphere charged with devotion, the rituals were performed with utmost sanctity by the temple’s prime servitors, strictly adhering to the revered traditions and customs of the Shri Jagannath Temple, Puri.
The day’s rituals commenced at the auspicious hour of 5:00 a.m. with Dwara Phita, Mangal Aarti, Shrikarpura Lagi, Mangalarpana Neeti, Pushpanjali and Sarbanga, followed by the sacred Snana rituals under the guidance of the temple priests.
One of the most awaited moments of the festival, the Dhadi Pahandi of the Chaturdha Murati to the Snana Mandap was witnessed with deep devotion. The deities were ceremonially bathed with sacred water, symbolising divine purification, blessings and universal well-being.The spiritually elevating ceremony filled the temple premises with an overwhelming sense of faith and devotion.
Following the ceremonial bath, the deities were adorned in the magnificent Hati Besha (Gajanana Besha). Lord Jagannath and Lord Balabhadra assumed the majestic elephant attire symbolising Lord Ganesha, while Devi Subhadra was beautifully adorned in the Padma Besha (Lotus attire). The rare and captivating darshan left devotees spellbound.
In the evening, the Anasara Pahandi ritual marked the ceremonial retreat of the deities to the Anasara Ghara, where they will remain in sacred seclusion for the next fourteen days.
Devotees will once again receive the divine darshan of Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Jagannath on the auspicious occasion of Netrotsav (Netra Utsav), marking their first public appearance before the grand Rath Yatra.
