BJP organised ” Jana Akrosh Mahila Samabesh” in khordha

Khordha/Odisha,Apr  26 : BJP khordha district organised “Jana Akrosh Mahila Samabesh” at Geeta Bhawan padia khordha.The meeting was designed to protest against the failure of the 33% women’s reservation bill(Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam Bill) to pass in parliament, blaming the congress led INDIA alliance for obstructing the legislation.

The BJP highlights that the bill tabled on April 16-17,2026 did not pass due to a lack of a two thirds majority attributing this to opposition from the congress and it’s allies.The meeting are branded to showcase the anger of women from village to parliament against opposition to the bill accusing them of a ” direct betrayal of India’s women.” BJP women leaders are actively targeting congress,DMK,TMC, Samajwadi  and Aam Aadmi party for not supporting the bill.Addressing the gathering BJP,Mahila Morcha State Secretary Pinky Pradhan launched a strong attack on opposition parties accusing them of obstructing the ” Nari Shakti Vandan Act” in parliament and betraying the aspirations of women.She characterised the situation not merely as a defeat of a legislative proposal but as a setback to the aspirations and empowerment of women.

She stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought to ensure 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies allowing for their meaningful participation in policy-making but the opposition parties detailed the initiative for narrow political interests.This is not the defeat of a bill but ablow to the dreams of mothers and women across the country.

The current wave of public anger would spread from villages to urban centres, significantly impacting the political future of opposition parties.She urged women to raise their voices and actively assert their rights.

BJP Khordha district president Biswaranjan Badjena stated that the parliamentary debate on the bill had the potential to reshape the nation’s future but was stalled by opposition parties.

He alleged that their actions amounted to injustice towards women which the electorate would not forgive.BJP state executive member Nikunja Kishore Pattnaik also criticised parties describing them as anti women and asserting that women in Odisha would reject such attitudes.

He reiterated that the union government has consistently priorities women’s empowerment and that the BJP has a long standing commitment to safeguarding women’s dignity and rights. The meeting was attended by several senior leaders including BJP executive committee member Rashmi Mayee Pattnaik,Rosina Rani Dash , Urmila Mohapatra among others.

The large scale mobilisation reflects the growing political intensity surrounding the women’s reservation bill with the issue expected to remain at the centre of public and political discourse in the coming days.
