Noble Effort: Shri Yoga Vedant Seva Samiti organise Matru-Pitru Pujan Dibas

Rourkela, Feb. 17: With inclination for western culture our younger generation have almost forgotten to show regards to their elders including teachers and parents. They are least bothered about their cultural heritage.
To counter this and maintain balance Rourkela based Shri Yoga Vedant Seva Samiti have started organising Matru Pitrua Pujan Dibas in and around Rourkela township including educational institutions for the last one decade.
The workers of Samiti on February 12 organised one such function in Sector 13 ground here with participation of more than 1000 parents with their children. Organised in a grand manner, the programme was attended by Swami Brahmasakhyatkar Saraswati Maharaj as Chief Guest who inaugurated by lighting the holy lamp in the ground. Principal of Hrusikes Ray College Professor Bhabes Chandra Sahoo graced the program as Chief Speaker while Registrar of Purusottam College of Engineering & Technology Kansbahal Dr Barada Prasad Bhol and Chairman of Sanatan Organisation Prakas Malengkar joined as Guests of honour.
The Chief Guest Swamiji spoke about degeneration of values and explained the necessity of such a programme in the present days citing example of Lord Ganesh wor shipping parents. Chief Speaker Bhabes Sa hoo told about foreign impact in the minds of our students. When our culture is being pursued in foreign countries it is very unfortunate for us to forget this, he added.
Guest of honour B P Bhol explained about the necessity of such a programme with examples from our scriptures. Likewise the other Guest of honour Prakas Male ngkar said about lifestyle problems faced in foreign countries with drug addiction, old age homes etc. which is not found in our country.
The programme was organised by General Secretary Samir Patnaik with guidance of Samiti Advisor Rameswar Dash , President Biswajit Sarah, Debjit Satpathy, Saroj Sarma, Trailokyanath Hota, Banarasi Prasad, Dusmanta Kumar Jena, Sanjay Nath and others.
