By Dalim Phukan

Guwahati, Oct 1 :“Congress is a party of those who destroy society; BJP is a party that builds society, a party of karyakartas who dedicate themselves to nation-building.

I call upon everyone who has moved from the society-destroying Congress to the society-building BJP to work for the people with a spirit of unwavering devotion to the nation,” said  Assam State President and Darrang–Udalguri Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia today, addressing those who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party from Congress at a joining ceremony organised at the party’s State Headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhavan. Welcoming the entry into BJP of several women leaders, including General Secretaries of the Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress, who expressed a lack of confidence in Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress President Mira Borthakur, President Saikia stated in his address that Congress today has no place for workers who uphold their self-respect.

Extending a warm welcome to the new entrants, State President Dilip Saikia further said that distinguished individuals from different walks of life joining the Bharatiya Janata Party, expressing confidence in its principles, ideals and commitment to good governance, reflected the people’s trust in BJP.

He stated that the experience, capabilities and public connections of the new entrants would further strengthen the party’s organisational foundations and help take the government’s welfare schemes and development initiatives to a wider section of the people.

Mr. Saikia further said that the Bharatiya Janata Party was moving forward by strengthening its organisation to preserve the continuity of development, good governance and public welfare in the State. He also expressed hope that the active participation of the new entrants would impart greater dynamism to the party organisation in the days ahead.
