JSW Steel Odisha Mining Division Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Pride and Unity

Barbil: With patriotic fervor echoing across the nation, JSW Steel’s Odisha Mining Division proudly commemorated the 80th Independence Day across all its operational locations — Nuagaon Mines, Jajang Mine, Ganua Mines, Narayanposhi Mines, Central Office Barbil, and Bhubaneswar Office. Each site radiated the spirit of freedom, unity, and national pride.
At Narayanposhi Iron and Manganese Ore Mines, the atmosphere was especially electrifying as the soul‑stirring chorus of “VandeMataram” reverberated through the hills, enveloping the surroundings in patriotic emotion.
The event was graced by senior leadership including Mr. Yogesh Bedi, Executive Vice President – Operations, JSW Mumbai; Mr. Prasanna Panda, Odisha Mining Business Head; Mr. Ram Shankar Sharma, Head of Operations and Projects; and Mr. ChittaranjanBahinipati, Head of HR‑Admin.
The day’s proceedings began with the ceremonial hoisting of the national flag by the chief guest, setting a tone of reverence and pride. This was followed by a disciplined and spirited parade by the security team, symbolizing strength, coordination, and dedication to the nation.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yogesh Bedisaid: “Independence Day is a reminder of our collective responsibility to uphold the values of unity, resilience, and progress. At JSW Steel, we take pride in contributing to the nation’s growth while honoring its rich legacy.”
Employees and local artists enlivened the occasion with patriotic songs and dramatic skits, stirring deep emotions among attendees. A standout highlight was the mesmerizing karate performance by young martial artists, who captivated the audience with their elegant movements and precision. The celebrations concluded with the felicitation of winners of the Independence Day painting competition, whose creative works beautifully depicted the essence of freedom.
