Dharmasala MLA launches drinking water supply through 120 tankers

Jajpur, Feb. 5: With the support of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Dharmasala MLA Himanshu Shekhar Sahu on Thursday launched the supply of drinking water to several gram panchayats in Dharmasala block through 120 water tankers.

The initiative marks the second phase of the water supply programme aimed at addressing drinking water scarcity in the constituency. Sahu said the move was in line with his pre-election promise made ahead of the 2024 Assembly polls to ensure drinking water for residents of Dharmasala constituency in Jajpur district.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said it was his responsibility to fulfil the aspirations of the people and that a roadmap for accelerated development of the constituency would be prepared. He reiterated his commitment to bringing positive change across all sectors in Dharmasala, which comprises 30 gram panchayats.

Sahu said his office remained open to people irrespective of party affiliation and encouraged residents to approach him with their grievances. “I will make every effort to address the basic issues of my constituency,” he said, adding that he was elected with the blessings of the people and would work towards a better future for Dharmasala during his tenure.

The MLA also highlighted the BJP government’s focus on strengthening grassroots-level organisation in Odisha under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, stating that the “double-engine” government was accelerating development in the state.

Among those present were BDO Jyotirmayi Kar, Block Chairperson Suchismita Das, Vice-Chairperson Bishwavijayini Mishra, BJP leader Kanhu Charan Das, BJP youth leader Pradip Kumar Parida, Jitendra Rout, Rajesh Kumar Pal, Abhisekh Rout, Ayushman Priyadarshan and others.
