O.P. Jindal School, Angul Celebrates Grand Annual Function with Enthusiasm

Angul, Dec. 21:The Annual Function of O.P. Jindal School, Angul was celebrated on 19 and 20 December 2025 at Eden Garden, Jindal Nagar, in a grand and colorful atmosphere. The two-day event, titled “Melange” and “Punarbharat”, was conducted with great enthusiasm and joy.
On the first evening, Mrs. Seema Malhan, President of Jindal Mahila Samiti, and Mrs. Anita Mittal graced the occasion as Chief Guests, while Colonel Sudip Majhi, Vice President and Head of Administration, Jindal Steel, attended as the Guest of Honour.
On the second evening, the event was graced by Mr. Rahul Jain, Superintendent of Police, Angul, as the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour included Mr. Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director (In-Charge), Jindal Steel, Angul, and Chairman of the School Management Committee. Mr. Damodar Mittal, Executive Director (Projects & Iron Zone), Jindal Steel, Angul and Vice Chairman of the School Management Committee, along with Mr. Dillip Kumar Sinha, President (Human Resource) and CHRO, Jindal Steel, Angul. The guests inaugurated the function by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
In their speeches, the dignitaries encouraged students to work hard and become responsible individuals. They also praised the school for its achievements and efforts. The Principal, Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sahu, delivered the welcome address and presented the annual report.
About 600 students from Nursery to Class V performed during “Melange” on the first evening, while around 500 students from Classes VI to XI participated in “Punarbharat” on the second evening. The guests also felicitated 35 junior students and over 125 senior students for excellence, awarding attendance prizes, scholar badges, mark cups, and trophies.
Successful alumni who qualified in NEET, JEE Main, and other competitive exams were also felicitated. Sarojini House won Best House (CCA) and Runner-Up Best House (Overall), Azad House won Best House (Academic), and Ramanujan House was declared Best House (Overall).
The vote of thanks was given by Vice Principal Dr. Arun Kumar Dash. The presence of students, parents, teachers, and School Management Committee members made the event a grand success.
