Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited Kalinganagar bags Kalinga Safety Excellence Awards 2024–25

Bhubaneswar, Nov. 22 : Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited (TSDPL), Kalinganagar, has been conferred the prestigious Kalinga Safety Excellence Award – Platinum Category for the year 2024–25. The accolade was presented by the Institute of Quality & Environment Management Services (IQEMS), Odisha, under the aegis of the Directorate of Factories & Boilers, Government of Odisha.

The award recognises outstanding commitment to workplace safety and was conferred following a rigorous three-stage evaluation process comprising a detailed application, an online presentation, and an on-site assessment by an expert jury. Over 100 companies from across India participated in this year’s edition.

Held at Bhubaneswar on 19th and 20th November, the honour was presented by the Honourable Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, Smt. Surma Padhi, and the Member of Parliament for Jajpur, Dr R.N. Behera.

Rajesh Chaudhary, Chief, TSDPL, Kalinganagar plant, received the award in the presence of Agam Kumar, Chief, Safety, Tinplate and Metaliks division. Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Chaudhary remarked, “This recognition reaffirms our unwavering commitment to safety excellence. We have undertaken several initiatives, including digitalisation, automation, enhanced surveillance through cameras, safety fencing, preventive maintenance practices, and behavioural change programmes to foster a culture of safety across the plant.”
