AM/NS India shines at Kalinga Baliyatra Mahotsav in Paradeep

Paradeep, Nov.11: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) marked its presence at the recently concluded Kalinga Baliyatra Mahotsav with a vibrant stall at Biju Maidan, Paradeep. The stall was jointly inaugurated by Shri Sambit Kumar Rout, Additional District Magistrate, Jagatsinghpur and Shri Niranjan Behera, Additional District Magistrate, Paradeep, in the esteemed presence of Shri Basant Biswal, Chairman, Paradeep Municipality, and Shri Abhishek Panda, Executive Officer, Paradeep Municipality.

As part of its CSR initiative to foster self-reliance among local women, AM/NS India provided a platform for various Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to exhibit and sell their handcrafted products. The stall featured a diverse range of items including Chandua applique art, millet-based foods, terracotta pottery, processed dry snacks, and handmade toys,attracting large number of visitors. Participating SHGs included Jagruti Variety Producers Group (Nuagarh), Nilamadhab and Kohinoor Producers Groups (Baldia), Maa Mangala SHG (Chakradharpur), Maa Bajrabudhi Producers Group (Barei), and Trahi Achyuta SHG (Bhutumundai). Across all days of the Mahotsav, the AM/NS India stall drew enthusiastic visitors who not only purchased handcrafted products but also praised the company’s CSR efforts, especially its impactful work in empowering local women through Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

On the occasion, Shri USR Raju, Head -Odisha Operations, AM/NS India, said, “Our association with Odisha’s cultural heritage reflects our long-term commitment to the region. “Through this festival, we reaffirm our commitment to social upliftment, particularly the empowerment of women, and our contribution to the state’s holistic development.”
