Bhuinpur (Khurda/Odisha), Feb. 23: MAS Holdings, South Asia’s leading apparel manufacturer, has officially commenced construction of its inaugural apparel park in Odisha, located at Bhuinpur in Khurda district. This strategic venture aligns with the Odisha government’s vision to attract industrial investments and strengthen the textile and apparel sector.
The groundbreaking ceremony saw the participation of senior officials from the Odisha government, Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO), and Industrial Promotion & Investment Corporation of Odisha Limited (IPICO), along with the leadership team from MAS Holdings.
Set to become operational in 2026, the first production unit at MAS Apparel Park will focus on manufacturing high-value apparel for both domestic and international markets. This initiative underscores MAS Holdings’ commitment to catering to India’s growing apparel demand while leveraging its global industry expertise.
Expressing enthusiasm about the collaboration, Malik Ahamadeen, CEO of MAS India, stated, “We are excited to partner with the Odisha government in building a vibrant apparel ecosystem. Our objective is to advance the textile industry while generating employment and contributing to the region’s economic prosperity.”
Suren Fernando, Group CEO of MAS Holdings, highlighted the strategic importance of this investment, saying, “This is a pivotal moment in MAS’ journey. With over 25 years of operational experience in India, we recognize the immense potential of the country’s manufacturing sector, which supports both global supply chains and the expanding domestic retail market.”
Spanning 60 acres, the MAS Apparel Park is designed as an integrated manufacturing hub, drawing inspiration from MAS’s successful apparel parks in Sri Lanka. The facility aims to attract industry partners, fostering a comprehensive supply chain that boosts speed and cost efficiency. Over the next decade, the project is expected to generate 10,000 jobs and attract investments exceeding USD 140 million.
