Viral posts claim BJP MP’s daughter backed CJP protest. Her Instagram now unavailable
NEW DELHI, JULY 26 : Even after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation brought the student protests to a close, conversations around the movement continue to dominate social media.
One of the latest ones involves Archita Sachin Rahar, daughter of BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi from Odisha, whose alleged Instagram posts supporting the protesters have gone viral, prompting widespread discussion online.
According to screenshots being circulated across X, Reddit and Instagram, Archita celebrated Pradhan’s resignation and wrote, “My family is with DP but I am with students.”
The post quickly gained traction, with many users sharing it as an example of voices from within political families expressing support for the student movement.
The online discussion intensified after several social media users claimed that members of Dharmendra Pradhan’s team reached out to Aparajita Sarangi, asking that the post be taken down.
Instead of deleting it, Archita allegedly shared details of the request on her Instagram account, doubling down on her stand. However, these claims remain confined to social media claims.
Adding to the speculation, Archita’s Instagram profile is now unavailable. It is unclear whether the account has been deactivated, deleted or removed. India Today Digital could not independently verify the authenticity of the screenshots or the claims surrounding the account’s disappearance.
Amid the online chatter, another BJP leader’s daughter also made headlines. Videos of Dibisa Mahanta, daughter of Assam Revenue Minister Keshab Mahanta, participating in a student protest in Guwahati were widely shared online.
The visuals showed her marching with demonstrators demanding Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, further fuelling conversations about the protests on social media.
While the demonstrations have ended following Pradhan’s resignation, the movement continues to echo online. Viral screenshots, videos and personal accounts remain at the centre of discussions, although several of the claims circulating on social media have not been independently verified.
