Vedanta Expands Mobile Health Unit Services to Kashipur, Odisha, Benefiting 10,000 People

Bhubaneswar, Feb. 24 :  Strengthening its commitment to accessible healthcare, Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, has extended its Mobile Health Unit (MHU) services to the Kashipur block in Odisha’s Rayagada district. This expansion will serve 21 additional remote villages, providing crucial medical care to nearly 10,000 people in the tribal-dominated region. 

Expressing his appreciation for the initiative, Dr.Netrananda Nayak, Head of the Community Health Centre (CHC), Kashipur, stated, _“I thank Vedanta for bringing quality healthcare to the doorstep of thousands in the Kashipur region. This initiative not only improves medical accessibility but also fosters greater health awareness, contributing to a stronger and healthier community.” 

Highlighting Vedanta’s dedication to social responsibility, Sunil Gupta, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Vedanta Aluminium, remarked, _“At Vedanta, we believe quality healthcare is a fundamental right. Our Mobile Health Units reflect this commitment by delivering essential medical services to some of the country’s most underserved areas. Through this initiative, we strive to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of rural communities.”_ 

Currently, Vedanta’s MHU initiative is positively impacting over 10,000 people, offering critical healthcare services directly to their homes. The specialized medical vans are equipped with a team of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and expert medical technicians. The service provides free preliminary consultations, blood tests, blood pressure monitoring, basic check-ups, and essential medicines for common ailments,ensuring comprehensive care at no cost. 

Beyond healthcare, Vedanta Aluminium remains committed to holistic community development in Odisha.
