Great Initiative: Van Mahotsav Celebrated at Balaji Nursing College

Balangir/Puintala, July 2: A tree plantation drive was organised at Balaji Nursing College in Balangir district, Odisha, as part of the ongoing Van Mahotsav celebrations. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and staff, alongside several dignitaries.

District Forest Officer Ajit Kumar Bishi, noted social worker Vishnu Prasad Kedia, and other guests graced the occasion. As part of the programme, participants planted saplings on the campus and pledged to protect the environment and promote sustainable practices.

The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nationwide appeal to plant trees and enhance green cover, complementing the state government’s ongoing environmental protection efforts.

Addressing the gathering, DFO Bishi emphasised the vital role of trees in maintaining ecological balance and urged the youth to actively contribute to conservation efforts. The event served as a reminder of the power of collective action in combating climate change and preserving natural resources for future generations.

The plantation drive reinforced the significance of community participation in safeguarding the environment and underscored the shared responsibility of citizens and institutions in building a greener, healthier future.
