Utkal Hospital Marks World Liver Day with Yoga and Wellness Drive in Bhubaneswar

Theme for 2024: “Food is Medicine”

Bhubaneswar, April 19 : In a dedicated effort to promote liver health and holistic well-being, Utkal Hospital, Niladri Vihar, Bhubaneswar observed World Liver Day with a special wellness program in collaboration with the Indian Yoga Association, Bhubaneswar Chapter.
Centered around this year’s theme, “Food is Medicine,” the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly 200 men and women, who took part in a guided yoga session focused on liver health and overall fitness. The session was led by Shri Suresh Kumar Mahapatra, Odisha Head of the Bharatiya Yoga Sansthan, and underscored the role of lifestyle choices in preventing liver-related ailments.
The program was attended by an array of distinguished dignitaries, including Sri Suryabanshi Suraj, Hon’ble Minister, Government of Odisha; Dr. Pragyan Ranjan Ghadei, Managing Director of Utkal Hospital; Mr. B.K. Subodh Singh, CEO; and senior medical professionals like Dr. Salil Kumar Parida and Dr. Malay Ranjan Dhal. Key figures from the hospital’s management, such as Mr. Subash Chandra Pati, GM (Business Development), and Mr. B.N. Mahapatra, AGM (Business Development), were also present.
Speaking at the event, the Hon’ble Minister lauded Utkal Hospital’s ongoing efforts in preventive healthcare and community wellness. “Awareness is the first step to prevention. I appreciate Utkal Hospital for championing this cause and encouraging citizens to be more conscious of their health,” he stated.
Reaffirming its commitment to community health, Utkal Hospital announced that it will continue to organize similar programs in the future to raise awareness and empower people with preventive healthcare knowledge.
