Keonjhar, Oct. 13: The recurrent visit by chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi is reportedly forcing the local administration to enforce strict restrictions on movement of transport vehicles, thereby causing serious losses to the local transporters, affecting steel productions and disrupting business activities.
In this regard the Core Committee of the Truck Owners’ Association of Keonjhar district have written a letter to the District Magistrate and Collector, Keonjhar, urging him to give some relaxation in movement of trucks.
In the letter signed by Debasis Pattanayak, Coordinator, Core Committee of the Truck Owners’ Association, the truck owners have urged the Collector to detain the trucks only during the road movement by the CM during his programme.
“We heartily welcome the visit of the Honourable Chief minister of Odisha Sj Mohan Charan Majhi to Keonjhar. It has come to our knowledge that Transportation from different mines has been stopped in view of the tour of the Honourable Chief Minister. As a result many truck owners are facing a lot of hardship. It is natural that the district administration will ensure the safety movement of Chief Minister. But we request you to detain the trucks only during the road movement period mentioned in his tour programme if possible. We hope that the Truck Owners will not be deprived of financial losses,” read the letter.
