TPWODL boosts power reliability in Sambalpur district

By Rupashree Mohanty

Burla May 28 : TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) has successfully commissioned two key power distribution infrastructure projects for enhancement of electricity reliability in Sambalpur district. Both projects cost the company approximately Rs 6 crore.

Recently a newly energized 33kV link line connecting the Khandokata Grid Substation to Jamankira feeder. This alternate supply route will ease pressure on the overloaded Kuchinda PSS, ensuring consistent service for over 13,000 direct consumers and benefiting nearly 37,000 additional consumers, including 2,500 agricultural lift irrigation connections.

In a second key initiative, TPWODL has launched a new 11kV industrial feeder extending 12.3 circuit kilometres from Katarbaga PSS to Gumloi DTR in Rengali section of Sambalpur East Electrical Division. This feeder now serves industrial consumers along the growing Jharsuguda-Sambalpur corridor, allowing with the existing line to focus solely on domestic demand, reducing outages and voltage fluctuations.

These initiatives have marked a major step in strengthening TPWODL’s power distribution network, improving supply quality, and supporting the region’s residential, industrial, and agricultural consumers at large.
