TPSODL issues alert on rising electricity bill fraud

Berhampur, Dec.4: TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Odisha Government, has identified a new phishing scam targeting its customers. Fraudulent messages are being circulated, claiming that customers’ electricity connections will be disconnected due to non-payment of bills. The messages often originate from numbers like +91 8481-042151 and urge recipients to contact numbers such as 6290317395 to avoid service disruption.
These phishing messages are designed to trick customers into sharing sensitive information or making unauthorized payments. TPSODL advises customers to remain cautious and avoid engaging with such messages, calls, or any suspicious links.
“Customer safety is of utmost importance to us at TPSODL. We are actively addressing such malicious activities and encourage customers to report suspicious messages or calls to our toll-free number. We urge everyone to use only official and authorized platforms for all payments and communication,” said Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO of TPSODL.
