Berhampur, May: TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has successfully completed the upgradation of a critical 33 KV power line to the Army Air Defence College in Gopalpur, Odisha — a key step towards enhancing power reliability for a strategic defence institution.
The Army Air Defence College, located along the coastal belt of Odisha, plays a vital role in India’s defence training framework. Strengthening its power infrastructure was crucial to ensure uninterrupted functioning of training and operational activities within the establishment.
The project was completed in January and involved a comprehensive upgrade of a 7.0 circuit kilometre stretch of the 33 KV line. The scope included replacement of old conductors, erection of damaged poles, and installation of 120 new electric poles. Additionally, bird guards were installed along the route to minimise the risk of outages caused by bird interference.
This infrastructure augmentation has resolved previous reliability issues and ensured a stable, continuous power supply to the Army Air Defence College. The upgraded line is now capable of meeting the power demands of the institution more efficiently, contributing to its operational readiness and performance.
Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO, TPSODL, said, “Empowering institutions of national importance through robust and reliable power infrastructure is at the core of our mission. The successful completion of this project reaffirms our commitment to delivering quality power supply to every corner of Southern Odisha, including key defence establishments.”
This project stands as a testament to TPSODL’s focus on building resilient infrastructure and supporting national service institutions. It is part of the company’s broader efforts to strengthen the power distribution network across its licensed area, improve consumer satisfaction, and ensure 24×7 reliable electricity.
