TPNODL Skill Development Centers Expand to 5 Districts Focusing on Empowering Students and Employees

Jajpur, March 19 : TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, is proud to announce the opening of its fifth Skill Development Center at Panikoili, in the Jajpur district. This initiative aims to improve the skill sets of employees and enhance the practical knowledge of BA employees and ITI students.

The inauguration ceremony was led by CEO of TPNODL, Dwijadas Basak, in the distinguished presence of Chief safety Tata Power, Suresh Khetwani, Head Safety TP Odisha, Devi Prasad Acharya, Chief of Operations Nilesh Potphode, Chief Project, Pradeep Kumar Mohanty, Jajpur Superintendent Engineer, Anant Narayan Senapati, Civil HOG, Tanuj Patnaik and other key TPNODL officials. The new center is primarily designed to benefit new employees joining TPNODL, offering them essential hands-on training to excel in their roles.

This addition to the network of TPNODL Skill Development Centers complements the four centers already in operation in Balasore, Betonati (Mayurbhanj district), Joda (Keonjhar district), and Rahanja (Bhadrak district). With these five centers, TPNODL is making strides in empowering local communities and supporting the workforce in enhancing their skills for better employability.

Mr. Dwijadas Basak, CEO of TPNODL, emphasized the center’s role in developing a skilled workforce for both TPNODL employees and local ITI and Diploma students. “This initiative is integral to creating a pool of talent that is equipped with the right skills to thrive in their respective fields. We are not only focusing on employee development but also working to make ITI students more industry-ready, boosting their chances for meaningful employment,” said Mr. Basak.

In addition to in-house training for employees, TPNODL has signed memorandums of understanding with several government ITIs in the region. These partnerships have led to promising outcomes with students from five government ITIs in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Jajpur, and Mayurbhanj receiving specialized training. The courses are focused on the electrician stream, equipping students with cutting-edge knowledge and hands-on experience to meet the demands of the modern industrial landscape.

This expansion of Skill Development Centers reflects TPNODL’s continued commitment to social responsibility, promoting skill development and supporting economic growth across the region.
