TPNODL Issues Monsoon Safety Advisory Reinforces Commitment to Reliable Power Supply

Balasore, June 30 : TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has announced proactive safety measures under its Monsoon Preparedness Campaign. With the onset of the rainy season, TPNODL has reiterated the importance of electrical safety for consumers and employees, while reaffirming its commitment to delivering reliable and quality power supplies across its licensed areas.

TPNODL urges consumers to exercise caution and adopt responsible practices during the monsoon. The DISCOM has advised switching off the main power supply in case of waterlogging or leakage in meter cabins, ensuring that all household wiring modifications are undertaken only by a licensed electrician, avoiding contact with electrical installations with wet hands, and refraining from operating electrical appliances beyond the permissible load. Consumers are also advised to keep windows closed during lightning, switch off electrical appliances when not in use, and refrain from loading garbage near distribution poles. Children should be prevented from playing near transformers or in wet fields near electrical installations.

Consumers are further cautioned not to touch or retrieve fallen electrical wires. In case of sparks, damage, or faults in any electrical infrastructure, they must be reported immediately to TPNODL’s consumer services, without direct intervention. Reinforcing internal safety, TPNODL has equipped field teams with safety PPE and specialized tools and mandated strict compliance with all safety protocols during monsoon operations.
