Bhubaneswar, June 17: Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power and India’s leading rooftop solar company, has launched an affordable rooftop solar solution in Odisha, aimed at fast-tracking the state’s clean energy transition.

As part of its ambitious ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign, the company has introduced rooftop solar systems starting at just Rs 2,499 for 1 kW, Rs 4,999 for 2 kW, and Rs 7,999 for 3 kW. Supported by attractive financing options, the initiative enables consumers to pay one-third of the total cost upfront, making solar power a practical and economical choice for thousands of households.

The campaign in Odisha was formally launched by Dr Praveer Sinha, Managing Director & CEO, Tata Power, along with Sanjay Banga, Managing Director & CEO, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL).

Tata Power has joined hands with the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) to enhance solar adoption across the state. The initiative aligns with the Central Government’s PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, offering subsidies of up to Rs 78,000 for systems up to 3 kW. Additionally, the Odisha Government supplements this with state subsidies of Rs 25,000 for 1 kW, Rs 50,000 for 2 kW, and Rs 60,000 for 3 kW and above.

These combined financial incentives have substantially lowered the cost barrier for rooftop solar installations, turning what was once a premium aspiration into a viable, affordable upgrade for middle-class homes.

The company also introduced two innovative lifestyle solar solutions — ‘MySine’, an integrated solar-plus-battery backup system for uninterrupted power, and ‘Solar Design Spaces’, aesthetic solar setups designed to complement home architecture.

The campaign’s impact is already visible. Odisha’s rooftop solar consumer base has quadrupled — rising from 430 to 1,759 — with Financial Year 25 alone recording 1,033 new customers, a tenfold increase over the previous year.

Recognised as India’s No. 1 rooftop solar brand for a decade, Tata Power plans to install three lakh rooftop solar systems in Odisha and ten lakh nationwide over the next 3–5 years, reaffirming its commitment to making clean energy accessible, affordable, and mainstream across the country.
