Tamil Nadu railway staff’s heroic act saves man seconds before speeding train
Tamil Nadu, July 9 : A railway gatekeeper risked his own life to save a man standing on the tracks moments before a speeding train passed near Sirkazhi in Tamil Nadu. A video of the dramatic rescue has gone viral on social media as viewers applauded the railway employee as a hero.
The short clip, shared by the X account Ghar Ke Kalesh, showed the gatekeeper standing on the platform when he noticed a man on the railway tracks as a train rapidly approached. Without hesitating, he sprinted towards the man, grabbed him, and pulled him to safety just seconds before the train rushed past.
The narrow escape has left social media users stunned, with many praising the gatekeeper’s courage and quick thinking.
“Respect. This gatekeeper didn’t think twice. He sprinted straight into death to save a stranger’s life. Real hero stuff right here. India salutes you,” a user said in the comments section of the post.

Others said such acts of bravery deserved official recognition, with one commenting, “Such people should be awarded so society learns from them.”
Another admitted they would have “frozen on the spot” instead of reacting so quickly, adding, “Some people surprise to no end. Kudos to the gatekeeper.” Many also pointed out how crucial the timing was, with one saying, “Even few seconds can matter a lot in life sometimes!”
Viewers, thus, applauded the gatekeeper’s presence of mind and heroic act, which prevented what could have been a fatal accident.
