Swami Vivekananda’s views on the Eternal Religion

CUTTACK, AUG  12:  It was a moment of pride for the members of the Club to discuss in it’s 130th Webinar on the views of His Holiness, Swami Vivekananda on the Eternal Religion. (Sanatan Dharma)

Shree Jagat Kishore Das, a scholar on the philosophy of Vivekananda and presently the President of “Swami Vivekananda Loka Sansada, Cuttack Chapter” was the Chief Speaker of the meet. According to him, Swamiji was a rare and unique Sanyashi and well known over the entire Globe. He said, the Sanatan Dharma is eternal.

It has neither beginning nor any end. It exists, continues and will continue. The scholar focused on the views and findings of the Swami, which are still relevant today. He focused on Vedantas, which are the application portion of the Vedic knowledge.

 He simplified the Vedic thoughts in a way that was understandable to the common man. Mr Das said, Vivekananda was not a blind follower of religion. He had pragmatic views on the religion as a whole for the entire universe. He wanted more discussion on the Swami’s teachings and narratives.

Swami Shyamananda of Hrishikesh was the other co-speaker. Swamis thrilled the participating audience with his depth of knowledge and his lucid presentation.

He said, Vivekananda was a fighter throughout his life. He has not accepted defeat in all critical situations. His confidence and sense of determination could carry him to the World Religion meeting at Chikago though he had no single penny with him.

 He could speak for hours though the time allotted to him was less than 5 minutes. He is the person, who could place the Sanatan Dharma in the world Platform. His deeper insight in to the Sanatan Dharma and Scriptures of our country made him an advocate of our culture.

Barada Prasanna Das, the President of the Club, presided over the meet. He said, Vivekananda was a rare genius. He understood the religion in proper prospective and explained others in simple language the intricacies of the philosophy behind it.

Kulamani Mishra, Nimai Swain, Aabha Das, Santap Jena and many members of the Club participated in the discussion. Professor Umasankar Misra, discussed with the Swami on differences between Religion, Philosophy and concepts as per Vivekananda.

Mr Mishra as the Secretary of the Club, thanked all participants, speakers and those who were involved in the meet. Jyoti Malla took care of the technical aspects of the meet. The president announced that, the next meeting will be to discuss on the teachings of Jogi Arabinda on the Sanatan Dharma.
