River of diyas, chorus of aarti, 2 world records: Ayodhya’s Diwali makes history again
UTTAR PRADESH, OCT 19 : Ayodhya, the city of Lord Rama, beamed with the glittering lights of earthen lamps and created history once again, bathing the holy city in a river of over 26 lakh diyas and registering two Guinness World Records in the process on the occasion of chhoti Diwali on Sunday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received the certificates for the Guinness World Records.
The record was set at the Saryu river bank in Ayodhya, where the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and the District Administration organised the Deepotsav, the largest display of oil lamps with an incredible 26,17,215 diyas, along with the record for the most people simultaneously performing diya rotation (aarti).
This grand celebration showcased the city’s spiritual and cultural brilliance on a historic scale. For the landmark event, a large number of people gathered at Ram ki Paidi at the banks of River Saryu in Ayodhya.
A stunning laser and light show illuminated the Ram ki Paidi. where Lord Rama is said to have achieved Nirvana, on the Saryu River, as thousands of diyas and vibrant lights marked the grand Deepotsav celebration.
The atmosphere became vibrant, and the city came alive with a captivating Ram Leela performance, enhanced by a dazzling laser and light show as countless diyas illuminated.
A mind-blowing drone show was also put up at Ram Ki Paidi, enthralling those attending the grand even as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath looked on with pride.
While the stunning drone was breathtaking, the fireworks dazzled the skies, filling them up with a milky white brightness, taking the attendees by surprise.
