Punjab,Octo 30 :  The Punjab government, on Monday, banned any kind of stunt or dangerous performance with a tractor after a stuntman was crushed to death under a tractor at a fair in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, in a post on X, said, “Dear Punjabis, tractor is called the king of fields. Don’t make it the angel of death. Any kind of stunt or dangerous performance with tractor and related implements is being banned in Punjab. Rest details soon.”

A 29-year-old stuntman was crushed to death after a tractor ran over him while performing a stunt at a fair in Batala of Punjab’s Gurdaspur.

The stuntman, identified as Sukhmandeep Singh, was performing a stunt with his own tractor when he got underneath it during the fair.

Sukhmandeep Singh arrived with his tractor to perform a stunt at the fair, taking place on the sports ground of Sarachur village. He raised the front wheels of his tractor, pressed the rear tires on the ground, and started running alongside the tractor.

However, the tractor went out of control and started running towards the crowd. When Sukhmandeep Singh approached the tractor to regain control, the out-of-control tractor trapped him underneath. Two people nearby attempted to rescue Sukhmandeep Singh from under the tractor, but by then, he had already passed away.
