Good News: Prof. Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship increased to Rs 6 lakh

Bhubaneswar, Sept. 12: Bansidhar and Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF) has announced an increase in the Prof. Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship for Higher Education to Rs 6 lakh per recipient.
This enhanced limit is effective from year 2022 for fresh awardees.
The annual PGDS scholarship is awarded to six meritorious students’ (domicile of Odisha) to facilitate higher education in the field of engineering, medicine and liberal arts across India including IITs, NITs , AIIMS , AFMC and other premier government institutes.
The past recipients have excelled in their studies and majority are now well placed in their respective profession while some have chosen to pursue post-graduation and research courses.
Ms Shaifalika Panda (CEO – BIPF) said “The Prof Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship provides an opportunity for students from marginalised backgrounds to strive towards their aspirations and change the fortune of their future generations through sustainable contribution to economic and educational wellbeing of their family”.
The scholarship was instituted in 2005 by IMFA in the memory of renowned historian Late Prof. Ghanashyam Dash (1902 -1959) father of Late Mrs Ila Panda, a scholar and historian of international repute.
After graduating from London University, he was associated with several educational institutions in Odisha, including Ravenshaw College, G.M College & F.M College as Principal and all of these have become Deemed University. The Bansidhar and Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF), implements sustainable and scalable interventions in five verticals namely Arogyadhara (health), Adhyayan (education), Sakshyam (livelihood), Su-Swasthya (water & sanitation) and Samwaad Sammaan (advocacy & appreciation).
