Prasanna Mohanty re-elected as Odisha Union of Journalists president

Bhubaneswar, Jan, 10: Mr Prasanna Kumar Mohanty has been re-re-elected as the president of Odisha Union of Journalists (OUJ), the largest body of scribes in the state.

Similarly, Mr Ashok Kumar Nanda has been re-elected as the general secretary while Rajesh Patnaik and Kisan Rout have been elected for the posts of vice president.

Samarjit Mohanty and Prasanna Kumar Paikaray have been elected as secretaries.

Amulya Ranjan Swain has been elected as treasurer.

The other office-bearers include Ashok Kumar Das, Bijay Kumar Sahoo, Barija Patnaik and Dipak Kumar Satpathy (all organising secretaries).

Thirty journalists from as many districts were elected unopposed as members of the state executive committee.

Sishir Kumar Das and Pramod Kumar Samantaray conducted the elections as election officers.

The newly elected president Prasanna Mohanty said the organization would be made more proactive in the coming days and the fight for increasing journalists health insurance to Rs 5 lakh and Rs 20,000 pension for journalists will continue.
