BHUBANESWAR, FEB. 17: A wild jumbo on Saturday strayed into Jayadev Vatika creating panic among the locals at Khandagiri on the outskirts of capital city Bhubaneswar.
As per sources, it is the same wild elephant that had earlier sneaked into the Horticulture farm of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) at Ghatikia on the outskirts of the Capital city and damaged some property on Wednesday.
It is believed that the pachyderm entered Jayadev Vatika after it was chased down by forest department officials during their attempts to drive it out from OUAT farm yesterday.
The forest officials closed Jayadev Vatika park for visitors as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident.
A massive drive is being undertaken by the forest officials to drive back the jumbo back into Chandaka forest.
