Pahalgam terror attack: Odisha CM pays tribute to Prashant Satpathy, announces financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh

Balasore, April 24: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Thursday paid tribute to Prashant Satpathy, the Odia tourist who lost his life in the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, at his native village Ishani under Remuna block in Balasore district on Thursday.

Mortal remains of Prashant have reached his native village this morning in a grand procession from Bhubaneswar Airport.

After paying tribute, CM Majhi announced financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh for the family members of Prashant. He also announced that Prashant’s wife Priyadarshini Satpathy will get a job and his son’s education will be taken care of by the government.

“The inhumane, cruel and barbaric terrorist attack on the innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir is tragic. I strongly condemn the act. I have paid my tribute to Prashant Satpathy at Ishani village in Balasore district who lost his life in the terrorist attack. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi will definitely take action against the terrorists for the barbaric act,” said CM Majhi.

“I am deeply saddened with the incident. It is a shock for the family members. I met with Prashant’s wife and son. The government will definitely take up the responsibility of the family. Prashant’s wife will get a job and his son’s education will be taken care of by the government. I announce a financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh for the family members. The government is with the family members and all kinds of assistance will be provided to them,” he added.
