Bhubaneswar, Oct. 24: Not only human beings and domestic animals, the Odisha government has decided to save the lives of stray dogs in the cyclone-hit areas.
Revenue minister Suresh Pujari, while interacting with reporters at Red Cross Bhawan here, said stray dogs formed the part of our social ecosystem and hence their lives needed to be saved at any cost.
“We have asked the district administration in Coastal Odisha to see that the stray dogs are properly taken care of,” Pujari said.
The revenue minister’s observation was immediately hailed by animal lovers.
“This is surely a good and noble move by the Odisha government. Stray dogs are mostly neglected though they are a major part of our social ecosystem,” said Subashis Sahu, a stray dog conservation activist.
