Noted freedom fighter Nilamani Samal dies at 101

Jajpur,JAN 27 : Noted freedom fighter, Nilamani Samal (101) of village Balipadia under Barachana block in Jajpur district died on Saturday at the SCB medical college and hospital at Cuttack .
Nilamani was suffering from old age ailment for the last two years. He was born in Baliapadia village on 23 January 2022.
The veteran freedom fighter was felicitated on 9th August 2019 by the President and the Prime Minister in the Rastrapati Bhawan in New Delhi.
Nilamani worked with the noted freedom fighters Malati Chaudhury , Nabakrushna Chaudhury , Harekrushna Mahatab , Gopabandhu Chaudhury , Rama Devi and others during the freedom movement. He was getting freedom fighters’ pension from the state and central government.
He is survived by his two sons. His wife predeceased him four years back.
Jajpur MLA , Pranab Das , Sukinda MLA and minister, Pritiranjan Ghadei , Former Minster Prafulla chandra ghadei , Writer Taraprasad Mishra and others condoled the death of the veteran freedom fighter.
