Model Anganwadi Centre by AM/NS India inaugurated in Barbil

Barbil/Odisha, Nov 12 : ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), in collaboration with the local administration,inaugurated a Model Anganwadi Centrein Munda Sahi, Dalki in Barbilas part of its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project ‘Padhega Bharat’.

The upgraded centre offers a safe, vibrant, and child-friendly environment designed to support the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of children. The renovation includes the construction of a boundary wall to enhance safety, along with the refurbishment of kitchen and toilet facilities to improve hygiene standards.

 New storerooms have been added for better management and organization, while creative artwork across the interiors makes the space more engaging and conducive to learning. To ensure reliable water access, a 1000-litre water tank has been installed. The centre is also equipped with comfortable furniture such as tables and chairs, and swings to promote play and recreation among children.

Shri Laxman Mahanta, Chairperson, Barbil Municipality inaugurated the Model Anganwadi Centre in the presence of Shri Rakesh Kumar Panda, Tahasildar, Barbil, Shri Sukanti Patra, CDPO, Joda, Smt. Babi Rani Mahanta, Councillor, Ward-2along with leadership of AM/NS India includingShri Amit Dubey, Sr. General Manager, Mining Operations, Shri Uday Verma, Head – Security, Mines, Shri Indrakant Saha, Mines Manager, Thakurani, Shri Pramod Acharya, Welfare Officer, local community members and ASHA workers.

Shri Laxman Mahanta, Chairperson, Barbil Municipality commendedthe company’s efforts to strengthen foundational learning infrastructure aligned with the government’s Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme.

Through initiatives like this, AM/NS India continues to reaffirm its vision of building stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities, ensuring every child receives a nurturing start in life.
