Man arrested for matricide

Jajpur,MAR 5 : A 37 -year-old man was arrested on  Sunday  on the charges of killing his 65 year old  mother on  Saturday  night over a family dispute in village  Binjharapur   under Binjharapur  police station in  Jajpur district.

The accused  Gopal  Ojha  on  Saturday night , picked up a quarrel with his mother   over the property dispute. When  mother Premalata Ojha   reportedly abused him , he picked up an axe  and crushed his  mother ‘s head .

She  died on the spot as she suffered serious head injuries .  Police arrested the accused  Gopal Ojha on the charges of matricide. Police seized the body and sent it to the local government hospital for autopsy.   Police  also seized the blood soaked  axe  in the house.  He was booked under section- 302 (murder) of IPC , said  the IIC of  Binjharapur  police station, Ranjit Das
