New Delhi/ Bhubaneswar, Nov. 30: The Make in Odisha Conclave 2022 started with a colourful note on Wednesday with 600 drones displaying Odisha’s art on culture in the sky in presence of chief minister Naveen Patnaik and delegates from across the country and abroad.
The CM inaugurated the third edition of the four-day ‘Make in Odisha Conclave 2022.’
“I declare the Make in Odisha Conclave 2022 open,” the CM announced at a glittering ceremony at Janata Maidan.
Almost all the leading corporate houses of the country and many multi-national entities are participating in the mega biennial event.
The event is likely to see participation of several corporate honchos, including L N Mittal of ArcellorMittal Group, Kumar Mangalam Birla of Birla Group, senior executives of Tata and Anil Agarwal, officials said.
Representatives from partner countries like Japan, Norway and Germany have arrived here to participate in the state’s flagship business summit, industries minister Pratap Keshari Deb informed.
“We are quite optimistic that we would get huge intents this time and the total volume of investment proposals will surely surpass the previous two editions’ commitment. In the first and second editions of the grand summit held in 2016 and 2018, we received Rs 2 lakh crore and Rs 4.19 crore investment proposals, respectively. Our volume of business from the current summit will cross the total amount of investments that received in the first two editions,” said Mr Deb.
For the first time, a huge international pavilion has been set up for the partnering countries and overseas delegations at the industrial carnival, being organised in collaboration with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
The MIO is inter alia expected to bolster innovation and expansion in the state’s start-up ecosystem with an aim to maximize investment and opportunities for start-ups in the state.
The event promises to be an effective platform to network, impart knowledge, forge partnerships and facilitate growth of start-ups across sectors. Further, going by the conducive business climate in the state and backing from the government, start-ups beyond Odisha can weigh the prospect of setting up their businesses here in the state.
Startup Odisha will play a pivotal role at MIO and will be seen as an important step in the overall growth of the start-up ecosystem and economy of the state. The aim is to maximise investment in the state through innovative programmes that showcase the start-up prowess of Odisha.
