BHUBANESWAR, MARCH 24: This could well be considered the bright side of social media platforms. A tweet by a woman passenger travelling in Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajadhani Express has landed her tormentor in jail.
According to reports, the girl travelling alone in the Rajdhani Express on Friday tweeted to her friend about the harassment she was meted out a fellow male passenger.
The woman’s friend immediately retweeted it to Union railway minister Suresh Prabhu.
Without any delay, Mr Prabhu reportedly directed the Government Railway Police (GRP) and other officials to take prompt action to save the girl from harassment.
In a swift action, the GRP apprehended the youth from the train at Tatanagar in Jharkhand.
The accused youth was identified as Baniprasad Mohanty of Khurda near Bhubaneswar.
GRP sources said Mohanty was being interrogated.
