Knowledge-sharing workshop held at Rungta Mines Limited, Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal, March 11: A one-day knowledge-sharing workshop was successfully conducted at Rungta Mines Limited (RML), Dhenkanal, under the Professional Pre-Program of Biju Patnaik National Steel Institute (BPNSI), Bhubaneswar, which operates under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Debabrata Mishra, Vice President of RML, at the plant site. 

Mr. Kumar Puspesh Ranjan, General Manager (HR) of RML, addressed the participants, highlighting the importance of such training sessions in enhancing professional knowledge and improving operational efficiency. 

Prof. (Dr.) Rama Krushna Sabat, Assistant Professor at IIT Bhubaneswar, delivered an extensive lecture on “Heat Treatment and Metal Working (Rolling)” and discussed the steel melting process using Induction and Electric Arc Furnaces. Miss Shaswoti Mohanty from BPNSI provided insights into the Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) process, while Mr. Satyapriya Satapathy from BPNSI conducted a session on “Energy Efficient Technology in the DRI Process.” 

In the valedictory session, Mr. Kumar Puspesh Ranjan appreciated BPNSI’s initiative and commended the valuable knowledge shared with the participants. The attending professionals and managers acknowledged the practical insights gained from the sessions. Mr. Ranjan concluded the event with a vote of thanks, emphasizing the significance of continuous learning and professional development in the steel industry.
