Kalahandi: Meritorious students felicitated in Bhawanipatna

Bhawanipatna, May 9: In a heartening initiative to recognise academic excellence, as many as 18 meritorious students from Kalahandi district, who secured ‘A1 grade’ in the Matric Board examination this academic year, were felicitated by the district administration in a special ceremony held on Thursday.

The felicitation programme, chaired by Kalahandi Collector Pawar Sachin Prakash, took place at Bhawanipatna, where students from various educational institutions were honoured for their outstanding performance.

Notably, a maximum number of these high-achievers belonged to Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir (SSVM), with students from its Mukhiguda branch featuring prominently at the top of the list. This information was formally presented during the event by District Science Observer Dushmanta Sekhar Padhi.

The students from SSVM Mukhiguda who received recognition included Shriyanshi Sahu, Anwesha Kumar Thakur, Bhawani Shankar Nag, Rahul Bania, Tinisha Rani Ratha, Pragatika Pattanaik, Kamalendra Naik, and Subhashis Gopal. From other SSVM branches, Ankita Behera (Jayapatna) and Anshuman Kata, Smruti Pragnya Sahu (Junagarh) were also felicitated.

Apart from SSVM, students from government-run schools and other institutions were also honoured. Among them were Pranati Mashra and Jignyashu Sabar (Rajapur), Ritik Kumar Meher (Chicheiguda), Bhupesh Naik (Medinipur), Ayush Kumar Sha and Priyanka Sahu (Depur), Dushmanta Rana (Kashrupada), and Jhili Sahu from Bhawanipatna’s Police High School.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of several district-level officers, education department officials, and local dignitaries, who extended their blessings and best wishes for the bright future of these talented students.

In their addresses, the dignitaries lauded the hard work and dedication of the students, encouraging them to pursue excellence in their future endeavours and become role models for others in the district.
