JSP’s ‘Celebrating The Legacy’ Concludes with the Birthday Celebration of Chairperson Emeritus Smt. Savitri Jindal

Angul, March 21 : The 12-day-long celebrations at Jindal Steel & Power (JSP), Angul, Odisha, concluded today with the grand celebration of Chairperson Emeritus Smt. Savitri Jindal’s birthday. The initiative, titled ‘Celebrating The Legacy’, commenced on 9th March in honour of JSP Chairman Mr. Naveen Jindal and featured a series of charitable activities aimed at uplifting the community and workers.
Each day of the celebration was dedicated to a specific theme and purpose, fostering community welfare and well-being. The 12-day program included Fitness Day, Culture Day, Day of Inspiration, Dakshata Day, Enlightenment Day, Day of Colors, Day of Unity, Sports Day, Safety Day, Day of Spirituality, and Empowerment Day.
The event was successfully organized by the local management at Angul, in collaboration with JSP’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm—Jindal Foundation—along with Jindal Mahila Samiti, led by Mrs. Seema Malhan and Mrs. Anita Mittal. During this program their collective efforts impacted more than 50,000 lives across the plant’s periphery villages and within the plant campus.
The final day, observed as Empowerment Day, brought joy to many, especially women, as they celebrated the birthday of Smt. Savitri Jindal, affectionately known as ‘Mataji’.
The day began with a special puja at Devbhoomi Temple, located in Jindal Nagar, where senior officials and top leadership gathered to offer prayers for Mataji’s long and healthy life. The celebrations continued with various charitable initiatives, benefitting local communities at Jana Jeevika Kendra, NGOs, Angul Jail, periphery villages, and inside the plant premises, including Jindal Nagar.
A blood donation camp was organised by Bhubaneswar Office of Jindal Steel where employees and other citizens and members of Rotary Club donated blood.
On this occasion, JSP’s Angul Location Head, Mr. Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director-Projects Mr. Damodar Mittal, CHRO Mr. Dilip Sinha, Yoga Guru Swami Satyabindu Saraswati, and other senior leaders extended their heartfelt birthday wishes to Mataji. They also expressed gratitude to all participants and contributors who played a vital role in making ‘Celebrating The Legacy’ a resounding success.
