International Webinar on Odia culture held at Cuttack’s Shailabala Women’s College

Cuttack, Sept. 21: An international webinar on Odia Culture was held at Shailabala Women’s College, Cuttack on September 17.

The event, organized by PG Department of Odia, was inaugurated by Principal Professor Gayatri Biswal and presided by Dr Chitta Ranjan Panda.

The objective of the Webinar was presented by Dr Sanjita Mishra and Guest introduction given by Dr Sugyani Kumari Sahu.

Guest Prof. Nalini Pati from Australia delivered his speech on health awareness and food habit of Odia culture that will be helpful for preventing cancers and other fatal diseases.

Dr. Rengadhar Horia Naik from Malaysia, who has settled there for more than three generations, said about changing of Odia Culture and Odias’ struggle for saving their traditions in abroad. 

Shri Tarun Agasti from Canberra, Australia told how Jagannath cult unites Odias all over the world and religious practices of Odisha enhance humanity and morality for human -development.

Dr. Sital Kumar Palbabu from Myanmar spoke on Odisha relationship with Burma and importance of Odias at there.

Prof. Sarat Mohanty from Singapore told on odisha’s maritime trade with world and Odishi Dance popularity at there.  Shri Sujeet Jena from Sydney, Australia spoke about advantage of ancient economical traditions of Odisha in present Global scenario by reusing of wastage and significance of Odias community or brotherhood relation.

In the webinar it was discussed that Bay of Bengal’ s original or ancient name was Kalinga Sagar.

Dr.Narendr Nath Nayak gave vote of thanks.

Many students, scholars from India and abroad joined in the webinar.

Dr. Tapas kumar Das and Shri Kamal Mahunta provided technical assistance to the program.
