Want to marry Rourkela girl? Get ready for 14 days in quarantine!

Rourkela, July 5: If you want to marry a Rourkela girl, just wait for a minute and know that you have to spend 14 days in quarantine before the priest chants mantra for your wedlock. Yes, this is what Rourkela additional district magistrate (ADM) Aboli Sunil Naravane said on Sunday.

“In view of rising Covid-19 cases, Rourkela administration has decided to introduce stricter quarantine norms for returnees and travellers coming to the city. Now every person coming to Rourkela will have to spend 14 days in home or institutional quarantine. Even, a groom coming from outside to marry a local girl here has to remain in 14-day quarantine,” Ms Naravane said.

The ADM informed that norm will be applicable for people coming from 14 Covid-19 hotspot districts in the state, including Khurda, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Bolangir, Puri, Jagatsinghpur,Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Gajam,Balsore, Nayagarh,Keonjhar, Jharsuguda and Gajapati.

As many as 66 new Covid-19 cases were reported from Sundergarh district in the last 24 hours.

“As there has been a rise in Covid-19 in several districts, people coming from hotspot areas to Rourkela will have to remain in 14-day quarantine (home, institutional or paid) as per advice of doctors. After their arrival in Rourkela, people will have to register themselves at registration counter at Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), here,” said Naravane.
