Great Initiative: Merit examination held at Viswass Science College

Bhubaneswar, Jan. 19: The State-Level Science Merit Examination was successfully conducted in the courtyard of Viswass Science Higher Secondary School from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event saw enthusiastic participation from Class 10 students across the state, who took part in this annual talent search test.
As in previous years, Viswass Science College continues its dedicated efforts to foster a demand for, and interest in, science education among students. The initiative aims to promote scientific thinking and inspire the next generation to pursue careers in science and technology.
In today’s rapidly evolving world, science education has become indispensable, underpinning advancements in information technology, the widespread use of electronic devices, and mechanical innovations in sectors like transportation and healthcare.
This year, around 100 students from ICSE and CBSE schools across various districts participated in the examination. The top three performers were honored with certificates, mementos, and cash prizes as a recognition of their achievements.
The event featured an esteemed lineup of guests. Dr. Pragya Ranjan Gharai, Chairman of the Institute and Managing Director of Utkal Hospital, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries included Mrs. Nandini Gharai, Secretary of the Institute; Prof. Ashok Kumar Kar, Principal of the Institute; and Dr. Abhay Kumar Bahinipati, Principal of Viswass Paramedical College and Chief Coordinator of the Science Examination. The college’s teachers, students, and staff also actively participated in the event.
The meeting was conducted by Mr. BLS, Senior Lecturer in Mathematics, who ensured the program proceeded seamlessly.
