Bhubaneswar, July 20: It’s good news for ration card holders. The Odisha government is planning to install grain ATMs across the state to dispense ration to Food Security Act beneficiaries.
This was informed by state food supplies and consumer welfare minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak in the State Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
The facility will be introduced in the urban areas of the state in the preliminary phase and later extended to rural areas.
Initially, the service will be available in Bhubaneswar, the minister said.
“A special code card will be provided to the beneficiaries to avail the service. The state government has been chalking out a plan in this regard,” Nayak added.
The Odisha government and the World Food Programme (WFP) had signed four partnership agreements and initiated six new projects in 2021.
